Sustainable Packaging Instructions for Use?

Packaging accounts for 20% of our daily waste. Half comes from companies. Think of boxes, necessary for the transportation and storage of foodstuffs. The production of all these packaging consumes raw materials and energy, which has an impact on the environment. To minimize it, it is essential to package and transport your products in environmentally friendly materials. In this article, we explain why compact cardboard is the most suitable for this purpose.

Recyclable packaging

Fully recyclable packaging has the least impact on the environment. This is why the image of plastic is generally negative, since it often fails among the litter at sea and contributes to the "plastic soup". Paper and cardboard, on the other hand, are made from renewable resources, and can be recycled efficiently. Our compact cardboard packaging is 100% recyclable. As part of a circular production process, the material is composted, which does not require new raw materials. Compared to other packaging materials, such as plastic, compact cardboard is therefore much more environmentally friendly.

Better preservation thanks to packaging

Packaging is not just harmful to the environment. They also make it possible to keep food longer and therefore to dispose of it less quickly. Food waste represents 15% of the total impact of food on the environment. The use of packaging contributes "only" up to 10%. A package must therefore first and foremost protect the product it contains. However, the compact cardboard offers the ideal characteristics. The fibers pressed against each other give the material a high density and therefore a very solid structure. In addition, the compact board resists moisture; in case of contact with a liquid, it remains equally robust, making it an ideal candidate to contain fresh and frozen products.

Packaging and sustainable logistics

Finally, a compact cardboard packaging makes your logistics more sustainable. Our advanced production techniques make it possible to produce thin compact cardboard. The difference between the inner and outer dimensions of our packaging is only a few millimeters. The load space of a truck can be used to best advantage: you can carry a few more packs compared to corrugated packaging. For export, the load space can be optimized to 100% by replacing the pallets with a compact cardboard slip sheet, which frees an extra layer. This makes the difference in terms of transport, and therefore of CO2 emissions. The fineness of the material also allows to freeze the products concerned up to 40% faster, which also saves
