Can you unsend an email on Gmail? 

In simple words, yes. You can easily unsend an email that you have sent out mistakenly. However, one condition matters, that is, the unsend email option must be enabled in your Gmail settings. If this alternative/feature is not enabled, you cannot unsend an email in Gmail. For your reference, here is an instructional guide on how to enable the unsend email feature on Gmail (for best results, use PC): 

 

  * First of all, head to the main Gmail Settings by clicking on the wheel icon on the top, right on the side of your display picture. 

  * Then, click on the “See All Settings” from the dropbox menu.

  Switch to the “General” Settings tab if you are not already there. 

  In the fourth row, you will see an option called “undo send.” 

  Click on the arrow within the box at the side of “seconds.”

  You can select between 5 seconds, 10, 20, or 30 seconds. 

  For safety, select 30 seconds. 

  Scroll down and select the “Save Changes” option.

  You have successfully enabled the unsend an email option on Gmail.

 

Now, if you have sent an email by mistake, you will see a notification below which says “View Message or Undo.” Immediately click on the “Undo” option to unsend an email on Gmail. Please note that after 30 seconds of sending the email, this option will disappear.

Technically, yes, you can unsend an email after 1 hour or even one day. However, this feature is only available on a limited number of apps such as Microsoft Office or Microsoft Exchange servers. Again, to enjoy this feature, you will need to enable it in main settings, which is very straightforward. 

 

  *  Login to your Microsoft account.

  * Tap on the “Settings” alt on the top.

  * Next, scroll down to the “mail” option.

  * From the dropdown menu, select the “undo” option.

  * Fill the circle in front of “Let me unsend messages I have sent for.”

  * Under it, click on the little arrow in the box. 

  * Select seconds. For example, 30 seconds. 

  * Scroll Down and save changes.
