Smelting is a trade skill in New World that allows you to refine various ores in the Smelter into ingots.

Smelting in New World is a Refining Trade Skill important for Armoring, Weaponsmithing, Engineering, and Furnishing. But before you use any other metal to make new tools, weapons, gear, or pretty much anything else, you’ll need to smelt it first. In this New World Smelting guide, we’ll give you a breakdown of all you need to know to get your skill from level 0 to 200.

Smelting Level 0-50

In contrast to the other refining professions, you can use different resources for leveling in smelting from level 0. The cheapest option is probably Wood for Charcoal. You only get a few experience points, but wood is much easier to get than Iron Ore.

Smelting Level 50-100

As soon as you reach level 50, you can produce Steel Ingots for the first time. For this, you need 3 Steel Ingots, 2 Charcoal and Sandflux, Shelldust Flux, or Obsidian Flux which you can find in chests in the World or produce yourself via your smelting from level 50.

Smelting Level 100-150

From level 100, you can already produce the first Starmetal Ingots and Platinum Ingots. However, Starmetal Ore and Platinum Ore are more difficult to obtain, so the prices at the trading post are very high. With a mining level of 100, you can mine your own Starmetal.

Smelting Level 150-200

Then, once you are at a level of 150, you can craft Orichalcum Ingots. For this, you need Orichalcum Ore and Starmetal Ingots. Orichalcum Ore is the rarest ore you can find in high-level areas north of the map. With a mining level of 150, you can mine your own Orichalcum Ore.

As you level up your Smelting skill level, you’ll unlock the ability to create higher-quality Metals and Precious Metals. Also, smelting is performed at a Smelter which can often be found in Settlements. Smelters have a Tier level which can be increased by taking on Town Projects.

It is a straightforward process on paper, but it will require either a ton of time spent mining. You can always skip mining and go to the Trading Post to buy the ore you currently need, but it may require a lot of coins. Don’t worry. You can buy New World Amazon Coins through Buynewworldcoins.com. Not only cheap but also 100% safe.
