Geoguessr is a web-based game that mimics this. Traveling throughout the world reveals a lot of differences in some places, but also a lot of similarities in others. Visitors from Portugal, for example, frequently remark on how much Northern California's beauty reminds them of their homeland.
Geoguessr was created by Anton Wallén in 2013 and has since grown to be a tremendously popular geography-based guessing game.
Users are given five semi-random locations in which to play the game, which makes use of Google's Street View, which provides street level pictures of areas all over the world, including faraway locales and underwater.
